Midwestern Cardiac Surgery and it's physicians, Dr. David A. Brown and Dr. Fraser M. Keith perform all of the heart surgery at MedCentral Health Systems in Mansfield, Ohio. MedCentral Health Systems ranks #1 in Ohio for Cardiac Surgery, according to the 11th Annual HealthGrades Hospital Quality in America Study, issued October 2008. The study, the largest of its kind, analyzed patient outcomes at 5,000 hospitals in America for 2005 - 2007. MedCentral was ranked among the Top 5% in the nation for cardiac surgery. This is the second year in a row the program has received this honor.

Brown specializes in all aspects of complex cardiac surgery including minimally invasive surgery, complex aortic pathology, adult congenital surgery, coronary artery bypass grafting, cardiac valve repair and replacement, and the Cox-Maze procedure for atrial fibrillation. Dr. Fraser M. Keith specializes in all aspects of adult cardiac surgery as well as the full range of non-cardiac thoracic procedures including bronchoscopy, thoracotomy, Video Assisted Thoracoscopy, wedge resections, and lobectomy.

Company Profile

Midwestern Cardiac Surgery was established in July 2002. David A. Brown, MD, is the president and founding surgeon. He spent the previous ten years in practice at The Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Brown is board certified in general surgery and thoracic surgery. Dr. Fraser M. Keith joined the practice in June 2004. Prior to moving to Mansfield, he spent three years at LifeLink Transplant Institute in Tampa. He was at the University of California, San Francisco for 11 years before that. Dr. Keith is board certified in general surgery, critical care, and thoracic surgery.
